There is an inherent belief that most plants are medicines if collected at right time. Therefore the season to collect Cordyceps is in between May – July in Bhutan. During the season people residing in the higher regions of Paro, Thimphu, Wangduephodrang, Gasa, Lhuntse, Trashigang, Trashiyangtse, Haa, and Bumthang harvest the Yartsa Goenbub (Cordyceps Sinensis). However, collection period is strictly restricted to one month period for sustainability in the future.
